Canvas Art of Chic Photo: You too Can Create Quality Canvas Prints

Why is canvas printing so beneficial? One of your absolutely favorite photographs was taken during the “summer of love” in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco. In the photograph, you and your friends were rolling around on the grass, hugging trees and kissing each other when someone snapped a photo and gave it to you. You eventually had it transferred to a disc. With the feelings it evokes, it doesn’t seem like it was very long ago, and the photo always brings up such happy carefree memories when you pull it out. Wouldn’t it be nice to have that scene as a photo on canvas to remind you of that freedom and happiness every day? You would no longer need “an excuse” to drag it out at a party, but, just have it as a permanent joyful reminder every day by making it “canvas art” (or canvas print) to hang on your living room wall.

Our Process for Canvas Prints

We at Chic Canvas can help you realize these simple daydreams with a gallery-wrapped photograph on good quality canvas. canvas printing is our specialty! Giclee in Relation to Photos on Canvas

Unlike a photo, or a poster or print of old, having used old materials and techniques, canvas prints far surpasses the old, and it’s excellent quality will last without the yellowing of past materials (exactly how long is unconfirmed as no one yet has lived long enough to know!). This current type of print is known as a “giclee” which is a French word for the process of how the print is composed. It is referring to the use of “splatters of paint” in digital print making. According to Wikepedia, the term “giclee” was originally coined by Jack Dugunne in 1991, a printmaker working in the field to represent any inkjet-based digital print used as fine art. It’s origin was from the word “le gicle” which means nozzle or more specifically, gicler, which means to spurt, squirt or spray. Giclees are the canvas art /canvas prints which is created by artisans using such machines as are found at Chic Canvas. Through this canvas printing technique we are able to print some of the best prints around.
