In the case of those who have survived the traumas of genocide, it helps them work out their grief and turmoil.

So the art department at the University of Minnesota opened the “Voice to Vision” art exhibit on February 19th of this year, to display artwork created by survivors of large-scale human tragedies including genocides in Rwanda, Romania, Vietnam, Laos, and the death camps of World War II. The collection focuses mainly on printing on canvas, with a compositions of canvas illustrations of the experiences these survivors have been through.

Among canvas prints, these artworks are highly emotional to view. There is one which contains a photo on canvas illustration of a five-year-old Hmong child who was gassed in Thailand when he hid amongst refugees in the jungle.
